Tour Mae’s Nursery
I’m so excited to share our little ladies nursery with you! Putting it together for her was so much fun (I may have gone a little over board!) Her nursery was inspired by the southwest living in the Arizona desert, it seemed fitting.
I started out by planning out the walls. Previously I had a dark walnut stained wood accent wall, which was just too dark for a little ladies nursery. So I went though and painted every board white then sanded them lightly and voila a feminine perfect statement wall. The rest of the walls we decided on a shade of peach that would accent the wood wall nicely.
Almost everything in the nursery we already owned or I made (a good way to save some money). The main exceptions to this was the crib, which is from potterybarnkids a gift from grandma (thanks mom). The sheets are also from pottery barn and the pillow are from target and hobby lobby. The bear stuffed animal I made and the Great Dane (just had to have it) Gabe gave to me as a gift years ago.
The dresser if you could believe it this was once a mahogany desk! Making it into a dresser was actually my husbands idea. I had a fun time transforming it, using a fun mint paint!
I knew I wanted a rocking chair luckily we already had a chair which just need a new cover, easy enough. I decided to make a little reading corner by the chair. Where we could keep Mae’s ever growing book collection!
The Mae sign is the statement wall art piece. I made it by using a few of the wooden slates from the accent wall and cutting out the letter on my scroll saw. The wall decor was mostly all homemade. Let me know if you would like to know how to make any of the pieces! Otherwise most of it you can find for sale on Etsy at my store Nidify.
