DIY Fun Fabric Banner

When we moved up to Washington I decided to change a lot of the decor in Mae's room! Some of it she had outgrown and some just looked better with her old peach walls and not so great on the new white one.  Since we are renting I couldn't do anything permanent to the walls so I made a few  new wall hangings. One of my favorites and a fun little project was the fabric banner. It nice because you can customize it completely, from the size to the saying, to the colors. It can be a completely unique piece...

DIY Wooden Animals Toys

With the Christmas getting closer and closer I wanted to get Mae some of those adorable wooden animals.  They are the cutest thing ever, but they are also a bit pricey! The good news is that they are so easy and cheap to make! Since Mae is obsessed with animals it was the perfect gift for her!       Before you get started your going to have to figure out what type of wood you would like to use. There are a lot of different types of wood to work with but when it comes to making toys hardwoods...

Last Minute Felt Pumpkin Candy Bag

With Halloween less than a week away I realized I still needed a candy bag for Mae. Not that she eats candy, but I definitely do! I remembered seeing a cute one on Pottery Barn Kid's site. However it was a little to late to order one and I did not really feel like paying that much when I knew I could make it for much less.     This is such a fun project you could make anything you like, a cat, ghost, or even Frankenstein. Whatever compliments your child's costume! The total cost was less then $5!  ...

SPOOKY TODDLER WITCH COSTUME

I am so excited for Halloween this year, it is fun every year, but Mae is turning 2 and will actually understand a little bit! Last year I made Mae a black cat costume (which was absolutely adorable!) This year we decided she would be a witch. Of course I couldn't buy one I HAD to make it. I love making costumes because you are able to customize them completely. For instance since we are no longer in Arizona, Halloween will be much cooler (at least for us) so I decided to go with a black velvet material which I...

Pom Pom Shorts

Aren't these the cutest!!!  I'm so obsessed I made literally 5 pairs for Mae!  It all started when I was on instagram and krista.horton (her kids are the cutest and she has great fashion tips) posted the cutest picture of her daughter in pom pom shorts I saw them and new I NEEDED them.  Unfortunately I couldn't figure out where they were from and rather than simply asking I decide to diy them.  I ran over to JoAnn fabrics and they had the prettiest spring silk prints so I grabbed a few as well as some pom pom trim and...

Mini Adirondack Chair

Spring is here and I Love preparing our yard for the barbecues fire pits and days by the pool. A few years ago before Mae I made some Adirondack chairs for Gabe and I to lounge about in the yard.  Now that Mae is walking around everywhere I thought that a chair for her would be a nice addition. When I originally made the Adirondack chairs I used This Sorta Old Life plans. These are awesome plans they give you step by step directions making it very easy to build.  When I made Mae's chair I sized it down quite...

Kitty Rag Doll

When I was on anthropology's website the other day I saw the cutest deer rag dolls for little girls!! They were absolutely adorable and I wanted to get one for Mae but I didn’t feel like paying the $30 price tag. When I went home I decided to try to make her one, but instead of a deer I wanted to go with the cat since it’s Mae’s favorite. This was a very fun project to make anyone with some sewing experience can make it. The hand embroidery is probably the most difficult part, but if you take your time...

Children’s Pull Toy

Time flies I remember being so excited on Thanksgiving when Mae took her first steps. Now she's going around everywhere; nothing can stop her!  I decided it would be fun to make her a little hedgehog toy to pull along with her on her many adventures.  This was a fun and easy diy project and it turned out super cute. A great one for beginners and would make the perfect 1st birthday present for any child!!! Mae loves hers, she has been pulling it around everywhere across the house, through the back yard, even out to the mailboxes. SO CUTE!!...
