I just love when I walk into the bathroom and there is colored powder everywhere, black gunk smeared and a little girl covered in colored dust. Mae has hit the age where she likes to copy everything I do! SO CUTE and so annoying at the same time! She is very curious about what Gabe and I do and she want to do it too. Especially when it comes to mommy and her makeup. You would think I would have learned but if I leave anything out on the sink by accident Mae will find it and will cover herself in it. So I decided to make her her own make up so that maybe it might deter her from mine.
This project is really easy anyone can do it. If you are like me you might have a bag under the sink fun of very old gross make up that should have been thrown away 5 years ago, this is the perfect way to recycle it. If you are not a pack rat like me you can get some from a yard sale or head to the dollar store.
► Old Make Up Containers
► Nail Polish (lots of colors)
► Dish Soap
► Paper Plates
► Old Mascara Container
► Nail Polish Remover
1. Use the knife to break apart any old make up, be sure to do it on a paper plate its very messy!
2. Clean the containers with soap and water, then dry completely
3. Once dry pour some fun colored nail polishes into each compartment
4. Allow to dry for several days, I waited a week!
Same steps as eye shadow, but use neutral colors
**Depending on your daughters age you may or may not want to include this one. It can be dangerous with younger children having a pointy item next to there eye.
Use nail polish remover along with the mascara wand to remove all make up from inside the tube. There is a rubber piece near the top of the tube that removes excess makeup from the wand make sure you take that out. Once the make up in out clean thuraly with soap and water.
