Knot Headband Wrap

Since Mae was little I have loved to make her fun accessories to wear. One of my favorites are her headbands! They are adorable on and so easy to make. A perfect project for a beginner sewer!     SUPPLIES: ► Knit Fabric ► Thread   TOOLS: ►Scissors ►Tape Measure ►Sewing Machine           STEPS: 1.  Take your fabric and fold it over about 3 in. hotdog style and cut. You should have a long strip of fabric   2.  With the back side of the fabric facing out sew along the long edge   3. Turn...

DIY Fun Fabric Banner

When we moved up to Washington I decided to change a lot of the decor in Mae's room! Some of it she had outgrown and some just looked better with her old peach walls and not so great on the new white one.  Since we are renting I couldn't do anything permanent to the walls so I made a few  new wall hangings. One of my favorites and a fun little project was the fabric banner. It nice because you can customize it completely, from the size to the saying, to the colors. It can be a completely unique piece...

Play Makeup

I just love when I walk into the bathroom and there is colored powder everywhere, black gunk smeared and a little girl covered in colored dust. Mae has hit the age where she likes to copy everything I do! SO CUTE and so annoying at the same time! She is very curious about what Gabe and I do and she want to do it too. Especially when it comes to mommy and her makeup. You would think I would have learned but if I leave anything out on the sink by accident Mae will find it and will cover herself...

Last Minute Felt Pumpkin Candy Bag

With Halloween less than a week away I realized I still needed a candy bag for Mae. Not that she eats candy, but I definitely do! I remembered seeing a cute one on Pottery Barn Kid's site. However it was a little to late to order one and I did not really feel like paying that much when I knew I could make it for much less.     This is such a fun project you could make anything you like, a cat, ghost, or even Frankenstein. Whatever compliments your child's costume! The total cost was less then $5!  ...

SPOOKY TODDLER WITCH COSTUME

I am so excited for Halloween this year, it is fun every year, but Mae is turning 2 and will actually understand a little bit! Last year I made Mae a black cat costume (which was absolutely adorable!) This year we decided she would be a witch. Of course I couldn't buy one I HAD to make it. I love making costumes because you are able to customize them completely. For instance since we are no longer in Arizona, Halloween will be much cooler (at least for us) so I decided to go with a black velvet material which I...

Easy Cute Backyard Pumpkin Patch

I am completely reminiscing I CANNOT believe Mae is turning 2 in a few weeks!!  For Mae’s 1st birthday we decided to have a Halloween themed party. Since her birthday is right before Halloween we decided to create our own pumpkin patch and it worked perfectly! All the kids came dressed up and even us adults got in on the fun!  Since the weather is somewhat nice at the end of October in Arizona we wanted to have some fun outdoor activities so we made a little pumpkin patch. It turned out so adorable and was a perfect spot for pictures....

JACK-O-LANTERN GARLAND

Last year I made this adorable garland for  week Mae's 1st Birthday and sadly I am just now getting to write this post! Since we went with a Halloween theme I made all sorts of fun banners, and garland, so when Micheals craft store had 60% off all there Halloween items!!  I found a pack of wooden Jack-o-lantern Wood Stickers I new immediately I wanted to make a banner out of them. Its an easy project and all you need is a drill and fun string (and finger nails to peel off all those annoying stickers). SUPPLIES: ► Wooden...

Chai Tea Latte Recipe

We are finally getting settled in up here in Washington! Loving it so far, the weather is wonderful, there are trees everywhere and the wildlife, we have seen deer everyday. Exactly what we were hoping for! We don't even mind the rain since we were coming from AZ, (i'm sure that will change). The only negative about our cute little town is there is no coffee shop in walking distance for Mae and I.  Probably a blessing save a little extra money. The truth is I don't even like coffee....but I do LOVE chai tea lattes!  I found a few...

Kids Stroller Upcycle

While unpacking the house they came across Mae’s old stroller and she was obsessed she pushed it all around the house everywhere she could go, but it was very difficult considering how short she is and how tall it was. I decided to check out the local Goodwill the other day and I came across a stroller for two dollars I grabbed it right away. The seat was ripped so I knew I would have to see a new one but that wouldn’t be too hard.  Luckily I already had some fabric and spray paint at home so I just...

Rustic Serving Tray Tutorial

Serving trays can be used all around the house. You can have them on your table, next to your coffee maker, or even in the bathroom. They're perfect for helping to organize different areas in the house. I needed a decoration for my coffee table that would also organize it, that's why I decided to do this tutorial! It is a fun DIY project, that does not cost much, and is pretty easy to make.  You do need a few tools though. Supplies: ► Miter saw or jig saw ► Tablesaw or jig saw ► Drill/Driver ► Sander ► Staple...
